The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome's (NCSBS) Hospital-Based SBS/AHT (shaken baby syndrome/abusive head trauma) Prevention program contains course content and a guide to implement a prevention program in a hospital and/or birthing center setting.

The NCSBS Hospital-Based SBS/AHT program is designed to train nurses about SBS/AHT. This program prepares parents to care for their new child by educating them about a normal baby’s crying patterns, how to cope with inconsolable crying (the number one trigger for shaking), how to deal with the frustrations that arise from caring for a baby and the dangers of shaking a baby.
