Dr. Block served as the chief child abuse examiner for the state of Oklahoma from 1989 to 2011, serving on the Board of Child Abuse Examination and the state’s Child Death Review Board. Dr. Block helped develop the Tulsa Children’s Justice Center, a multidisciplinary child abuse evaluation center. He served on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect for 10 years, four as Chair. He has received awards for his work in child abuse from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Ray E. Helfer Society..
