New Hampshire
New Hampshire Children’s Trust has been working with the New Hampshire Abusive Head Trauma Coalition and other partners to promote and support the statewide implementation of The Period of PURPLE Crying®. The Coalition worked for several months to choose which model they would support and after considering a number of available models, chose The Period of PURPLE Crying® as the model they would recommend for statewide implementation in 2010. The New Hampshire Children’s Trust offered to lead the effort to reach every baby born in New Hampshire as part of our commitment to focus our energies on proven strategies to fulfill our mission to lead the drive to eliminate abuse and neglect in NH.
We hope to have all 20 hospitals where babies are born in New Hampshire sharing the program with new parents by 2015. New Hampshire Children’s Trust will continue to work with the Abusive Head Trauma Coalition, birthing hospitals and other healthcare providers, and other family serving agencies to both expand PURPLE implementation in NH and to evaluate our efforts to bring about the changes in knowledge and behavior that the Period of PURPLE Crying promotes. Together we can realize the NH Children’s Trust vision that every child will thrive in safe, stable, and nurturing families and communities.
